Jonah encourages Aussie donors 22/07/2007 19:04:02 All Black great Jonah Lomu has become an ambassador for an Australian campaign encouraging people to become organ donors but local campaigners are disappointed he does not have the opportunity to do the same thing at home. New Zealand organ donor campaigner Andy Tookey, of Givelife, believes New Zealand has lost an opportunity to use Lomu for promoting organ donation in his own country. He believes the rugby star would be happy to back an awareness campaign here but he accuses the Ministry of Health of not bothering to launch one. Mr Tookey says despite five years of campaigning there is no sign of a similar initiative and people are dying waiting for organs. Courtesy of Newstalk ZB
